Elaine Barretto is an Electronic Engineer, and got her master degree in the Aeronautics Technological Insititute in Brazil, in 2003, on modeling of Photonic Crystal Fibers. From 2007 to 2011 she was a PhD student at the Technical University of Denmark, in the Department of Photonics Engineering, on Integrated Photonic Devices based on Surface Acoustic Waves. After obtaining her PhD degree, she started working as a Postdoc at the University of Konstanz, in the Department of Physics, on a project about Dissipation in Nanomechanical Structures, where she is still working at the present moment.
